Business Development & Proposal Specialist

As a Business Development & Proposal Specialist, you will work in collaboration with Carnegie’s sales, marketing and business development personnel to prepare and create responses to customers’ request for proposals. Reporting to the Business Development Director, you will provide leadership and direction for strategic proposal opportunities and play a critical role in helping to build Carnegie’s book of business.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and create responses to customers’ proposal requests as directed by sales and operations teams
  • Possess complete and ongoing knowledge of company and industry
  • Plan winning themes, value propositions, and differentiated solutions for proposals
  • Build proposals driven by clients’ business marketing goals and objectives
  • Collaborate with internal Carnegie departments to develop proposals that are high-quality and accurate
  • Develop proposal department resource library of proposal tools and documents

Qualifications:

  • Excellent attention to detail and time management and the ability to effectively multitask in a deadline-driven atmosphere
  • Must be self-directed and able to complete projects with limited supervision
  • Experience with Asana or other project management software tools a plus
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, utilizing resources to work independently and troubleshoot arising issues
  • Excellent writing, grammar, and spelling ability
  • Microsoft Office program skills
  • Ability to write and speak clearly, concisely, and persuasively

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; journalism/marketing/advertising/business major or related field concentration preferred
  • Higher education/enrollment marketing experience/interest a plus
  • Adobe Creative Suite experience a plus
