Digital Marketing Strategist

Carnegie is looking for a motivated full-time Digital Marketing Strategist to join the Inbound
Marketing team to support Carnegie Clarity™, Carnegie’s proprietary website personalization and
marketing attribution service. The Digital Marketing Strategist will leverage a customer data
platform (CDP) to segment prospective student audiences, develop personalized website campaign
strategies, and use data from the website and other systems to identify high-yield attribution
strategies and behavioral trends among user groups.

Personalized website campaigns are independent web elements (e.g., lightboxes and pop-ups) or
inline content (ex., customized hero image) that appear to specific website users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with clients to understand their objectives and KPIs.
  • Architect website personalization strategies driven by our clients’ business marketing goals
    and objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal team members across Copywriting, Web
    Development, and Digital Advertising teams to execute those strategies.
  • Build personalized website content interactions/campaigns in the CDP platform.
  • Create in-depth monthly and ad hoc reporting and analysis for the clients to which you are
    assigned using Google Analytics, Google Data Studio, and platform reporting tools; must be
    able to analyze data in aggregate, identify short-term and long-term trends, and make
    thoughtful recommendations accordingly.
  • Foster client-agency relationships through monthly strategy calls, acting as an expert
    partner for clients and advising on best practices.
  • Show thought leadership through contributions to team meetings, including bringing
    forward ideas around process improvements, strategic testing, and ways to increase client
    satisfaction/campaign success.

the higher education industry. The right person for this role will be comfortable interacting with
clients and internal stakeholders. This person will also be comfortable with new technology, have
the ability to quickly learn and acclimate to it, and help integrate it into overall services to drive
innovation in the industry

This position reports directly to our Assistant Director, Marketing Technology.


  • Bachelor’s degree required; Marketing/Advertising major or concentration preferred.
  •  Two-plus years of experience in a digital marketing campaign management role or
    experience with marketing automation or customer data platforms (CDP).
  •  Experience analyzing and reporting on data trends with full understanding of digital
    marketing KPIs and success metrics.
  • Experience using and analyzing data visualization tools such as Google Data Studio and
    Google Analytics.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to effectively multitask in a deadline-driven
  • Clear oral and written communication skills, both internally and externally; can confidently
    speak to and present on campaign performance with both clients and internal Digital team
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, utilizing resources to work independently and
    troubleshoot arising issues before escalating to senior team members.
