Web Strategist

Carnegie seeks a Web Strategist to join our web strategy team. Strategy is foundational to the client experience and the quality of our work products. You’ll be joining a group of dedicated strategists to develop smart and bespoke web solutions for clients. The focus of this role is primarily research and support in service to strategy and client engagement. The strategist will collaborate with colleagues across the web division and Carnegie to ensure that project deliverables align with the strategy established at the beginning of the project. This position reports to the AVP of Web Strategy.


  • Work with the web strategy team to develop a broad and deep collective understanding of client needs, expectations, challenges, and opportunities for website redesigns and other web-related projects
  • Facilitate client-facing discovery sessions and workshops to identify client goals, objectives, challenges, and critical success metrics
  • Participate in qualitative research and data analysis to distill meaningful insights
  • Help to ensure the execution of strategy across the project lifecycle, in collaboration with a number of teams, including design and UX, web development, content and SEO, and account management
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients at organizational and individual levels and identify opportunities for future client engagements
  • Develop expertise in areas related to web projects: content strategy, user experience, visual design, technology, measurement, and search engine optimization (SEO)

  • You like working on teams and have a track record of working effectively across departments with peers and senior leadership
  • Experience in current web practices and supporting technologies is preferred
  • You have three to five years of demonstrable success in higher education, agency, or consulting work
  • A bachelor’s degree is required
