Join us on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, for Slate Camp at Carnegie Conference! Held prior to the conference, this program will look at Slate through a marketing lens, with sessions on how to master configurable joins, build out multi-channel communications, and enhance strategy through Deliver-focused reporting. Sessions are intended for an audience with a beginner to intermediate understanding of Slate.

  • Laura Murnen Senior Slate Strategist + Trainings Manager Persona The Considerate and Adventurous Globetrotter

    As Trainings Manager and Senior Slate Strategist, Laura Murnen and her team run accessible and highly productive Slate training workshops for Carnegie's clients. In her seven years of higher education experience, Laura has dabbled in a variety of roles including event planning, service learning, recruitment, and communications. Prior to joining the Carnegie team, she served as a recruiter and Assistant Director of Communications for the University of Cincinnati, where she was first introduced to Slate and started in the path to her current role. Laura finds joy in empowering partner institutions in their creativity and use of Slate through customized trainings.

    In life, Nick takes a minimalist approach to things. As your Slate Strategist, however, he dives in with enthusiasm to get you the maximum return on investment. Having spent more than five years in college admissions marketing, Nick knows a thing or two about optimizing Slate for each audience. In his spare time, he is a cherry pie and donut connoisseur (not usually together), and enjoys surrealist art.‍

After graduating from Penn State, Allison worked in various admissions roles at La Salle University, where she oversaw the implementation of Slate and all things CRM-related, among other things. Now, she's using her love of admissions as part of Carnegie's Slate Optimization team, bringing more than eight years of experience managing email communications and admissions data to her role as Slate Strategist.
