Rolanda C. Burney, Ph.D., is a senior higher education executive with more than 20 years of leadership experience, including 15 years in chief of staff roles. She serves as Chief Administrative Officer and Chief of Staff to the Dean of Emory College of Arts & Sciences at Emory University, where she advances enterprise operations, governance effectiveness, and cross-functional alignment within one of the university’s largest academic divisions. Dr. Burney’s work centers on organizational design, adaptive leadership, and building institutional trust during periods of cultural and structural transformation. Having advised presidents, provosts, and deans across multiple institutions, she brings deep expertise in navigating uncertainty while strengthening clarity, accountability, and institutional coherence.
