Assistant Director, Paid Search
The Assistant Director of Paid Search is responsible for the management and oversight of paid search campaigns for key Carnegie clients while working closely with the Paid Search team leadership to ensure the team stays well-versed on best practices and training, as well as brainstorming ways to move the Paid Search team forward. The Assistant Director, Paid Search will have the opportunity to manage 1-3 employees on the Paid Search team.
Responsibilities:
- Paid Search Campaign Management & Reporting
- Lead and manage paid search strategy for high-value clients, including account structure, targeting, keyword approach, optimization priorities, and reporting.
- Elevate data-driven decision-making by interpreting complex performance metrics, translating them into clear strategic recommendations, and articulating how paid search ladders up to client business objectives.
- Partner with Digital Strategists on proposal development, RFPs, and strategic adjustments to ensure paid search strategies align with client goals.
- Internal Team
- Partners closely with strategy, media, and project teams to ensure a seamless, expertise-driven transition from onboarding to campaign launch, bringing paid search-specific leadership that upholds Carnegie’s standards of strategic excellence and client service.
- Collaborate with the digital team to strengthen integrated strategies and advance paid search’s broader growth vision.
- Show thought leadership by keeping pace with Paid Search industry trends as well as bringing forward ideas around process improvements, best practices, and tests.
- Supervisory Responsibilities
- Interview and hire new team members
- Oversee the daily workflow of specific employees
- Has an integral part in training new employees who join the Paid Search team
Qualifications:
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to effectively multitask in a deadline-driven atmosphere.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills through independent troubleshooting of issues before escalating to other team members
- Quick learner and ability to adapt to new and changing technologies
- Clear written communication skills, both internally and externally
- Passion, energy, and enthusiasm for digital marketing and client success
- Due to the remote environment, effective communication and time management skills are required, as well as the ability to use/learn multiple technology platforms and switch between them on a regular basis
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required; Marketing/Advertising major or concentration is preferred
- 4-5 years of experience working in Paid Search in the Google Ads platform; lead generation is a plus
- Data analysis experience, particularly experience in analyzing digital campaign metrics to measure success
- Experience with employee management is preferred
- Experience with Asana or other project management tools and Google-based products (Docs, Sheets, and Slides) is a plus
- Currently certified in Google Ads Paid Search is a plus
