Deal Desk Manager
The Deal Desk Manager facilitates all client contract communications and manages the contract workflow from verbal agreement through to fully executed contract, including negotiation of final pricing agreements as needed. This role centralizes critical aspects of the sales cycle to ensure efficient deal closure, appropriate stewardship of key contract and billing information, and optimized revenue outcomes for the business.
Responsibilities:
- Pricing/Terms Negotiation and Optimization
- Leads final pricing and terms negotiations with clients, securing optimal terms that align with business profitability goals
- Analyzes proposed pricing structures and discounting requests, making data-driven recommendations to sales and leadership
- Develops and maintains a centralized knowledge base of pricing strategies, terms and conditions of past deals, and negotiation outcomes to inform future decisions
- Maintains awareness of product catalog for bundling scope packages
- Provides recommendations on process development, tech enhancements, and resource planning, as needs and responsibilities scale
- Client Contract Communications
- Serves as the primary point of contact for clients once they’ve indicated they are ready to receive a contract after initial sales engagement, ensuring efficient knowledge transfer from business development and sales leads to project teams
- Confirms accuracy of final internal Budget Box associated with each sales opportunity and its adherence to agency scope and pricing standards
- Provides necessary information to the Operations team responsible for contract creation
- Coordinates internal approvals with the Operations team for client-provided contracts and client-requested edits to Carnegie terms and conditions
- Updates Salesforce as needed to ensure data accuracy of sales opportunities in relevant stages
- Ensures signed contracts are quickly submitted for processing
- Cross-functional Communication and Collaboration
- Collaborates closely with Account Directors, Executive Sales leaders, Business Development, Operations, Finance, and the rest of the Revenue Operations team to ensure efficiency and client satisfaction
- Identifies opportunities to streamline and improve contract and pricing processes
- Provides regular reports to Revenue Operations and divisional leadership on contract themes related to scope bundles, discounts, etc.
Qualifications:
- Proven ability to manage workload, organize tasks efficiently, and prioritize responsibilities for both internal and external projects, even under pressure
- Ability to manage time effectively and consistently meet deadlines to support team objectives
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and an outgoing, engaging personality that enables effective collaboration across diverse teams, all organizational levels, and stakeholders, ensuring a positive representation of the organization.
- Proactive approach to supporting team workflows, with a willingness to adapt to evolving processes
- High degree of integrity, ability to work independently, and strong critical-thinking skills
- Ability to quickly grasp new processes and adapt readily to changes
- Knowledge of and interest in the higher education space is a plus
- High competency in utilizing Google Suite applications
- Due to the remote environment, effective communication and time management skills are required, as well as the ability to use/learn multiple technology platforms and switch between them on a regular basis
- Physical requirement: Must be able to work at a computer for prolonged periods
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably with a concentration in Business Management, Accounting, Marketing, Communications, Finance, or Project Management
- 3 or more years of customer/client-management experience
- Management and/or leadership experience preferred
- Experience with Asana project management and Salesforce software preferred
- Experience with Adobe and Docusign platforms a plus
