Director, Slate Solutions
The Director, Slate Solutions drives the growth and success of Carnegie’s Slate portfolio by identifying new opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and advancing the company’s presence in the higher education CRM market. This role plays a pivotal part in the full sales cycle – from early discovery through proposal and transition – acting as the bridge between prospective clients, sales, and delivery teams. The Director collaborates with leadership to shape solution strategies, align client needs with Carnegie’s Slate offerings, and ensure a seamless transition from signed engagement to successful implementation. With a focus on revenue growth, partnership expansion, and delivery excellence, this role blends consultative selling with operational coordination to strengthen Carnegie’s impact across the Slate community.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with leadership, sales, and business development teams to support the growth strategy for Carnegie’s Slate Solutions, encompassing admissions and student success implementations, portals, consultations, trainings, integrations, and staff augmentation engagements.
- Collaborate with sales and business development teams to identify new opportunities, support renewals, and expand existing client engagements.
- Lead proposal development, pricing recommendations, and project scoping in partnership with the VP of Slate Implementations.
- Partner with Marketing and Business Development leadership to align messaging, collateral, and positioning for Slate services.
- Share insights and collaborate with leaders across Carnegie’s business units to enhance coordination and optimize delivery.
- Collaborate with leadership on team resourcing by providing visibility into the project pipeline to inform forecasting and staffing plans.
- Oversee client handoffs from sales to strategists by preparing detailed summaries of client needs, goals, and project context to ensure seamless transitions.
- Represent Carnegie at conferences, webinars, and industry events as a knowledgeable voice for Slate Implementations and Staff Augmentation.
- Manage and collaborate with the Assistant Director of Trainings to strengthen Carnegie’s visibility and influence within the higher education and Slate communities through joint initiatives, professional development opportunities, and community engagement efforts.
- Identify and nurture potential strategic partnerships and alliances that enhance Slate Implementation and Staff Augmentation capabilities.
- Monitor industry trends and competitive activity to inform strategy and ensure Carnegie’s Slate services remain innovative and relevant.
- Provide ongoing feedback and insights to inform service development, process improvements, and team alignment.
Qualifications:
- Strategic and analytical thinker with the ability to translate insights into actionable plans.
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills with experience guiding cross-functional teams.
- Working knowledge of Technolutions Slate and CRM implementation concepts, with the ability to discuss high-level technical approaches and connect clients to subject matter experts when deeper expertise is required.
- Ability to translate complex or highly technical information into clear, actionable insights for non-technical teams and clients.
- Skilled in project coordination, client relationship management, and operational planning.
- Proven ability to support business development efforts through proposal creation, solution design, and client engagement.
- Strong organizational skills with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and process improvement.
- Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, capable of representing Carnegie at conferences and industry events.
- Comfortable balancing strategic priorities with hands-on project support in a dynamic, remote environment.
- Proficiency with CRM and project management tools (Slate, Asana, Smartsheet, Google Workspace, etc.).
- Must be able to work at a computer for prolonged periods.
Experience
- 5–7 years of experience in higher education, enrollment management, or CRM implementation.
- Experience with Technolutions Slate required.
- Prior experience in client management, sales enablement, or operations leadership preferred.
