Senior Director, Online Enrollment Strategy
The Senior Director of Online Enrollment Strategy (OES Strategist) drives strategic growth for online programs by leading integrated marketing, enrollment, and student experience projects. This role serves as a trusted advisor, developing holistic, data-driven enrollment marketing and student engagement solutions, including digital advertising, SEO, and Enhanced Student Support (ESS). The Strategist is key to helping institutions launch and scale full online solutions by integrating Carnegie’s digital expertise, enrollment strategies, and student support services to ensure student success and institutional growth.
Responsibilities:
- Client Engagement as Lead Strategist
- Lead on-site and virtual client engagements focused on online program recruitment, student experience solutions, and digital enrollment marketing ensuring exceptional client experiences and valuable outcomes
- Serve as the lead strategist for all integrated, full-funnel OES strategies, including digital marketing, SEO, ESS solutions, and full-funnel student engagement strategies
- Guide clients through a holistic understanding of online program growth and student recruitment services grounded in seamless integration of in/out-sourced solutions
- Facilitate calls, presentations, and the creation of strategic deliverables tailored to OES solutions
- Interface with campus leaders—including VPs of Enrollment, Marketing, and Online Education to build credibility and maintain strong client relationships
- Collaborate closely with the divisional strategist and Client Success Leader to ensure a seamless and integrated client experience and meaningful results
- Data Analysis, Strategy, and Storytelling
- Adept to deliver comprehensive performance narrative by integrating multi-channel data, student engagement trends, and client enrollment insights
- Synthesize and piece together extensive marketing, SEO, and conversion data from subject matter experts into actionable insights and recommendations that enhance online student recruitment
- Develop clear, measurable deliverables that drive exceptional outcomes across integrated teams
- Cross-Company Collaboration and Leadership
- Oversee cross-disciplinary efforts across digital marketing, SEO, contact center and all of Carnegie services and their contributions to achieve holistic OES results
- Research online program markets, student behaviors, and competitive landscapes to inform strategy
- Solve complex online program growth challenges in a self-sufficient and collaborative manner
- Stay educated on trends and developments in higher education, online learning, enrollment and marketing
Qualifications:
- Deep expertise in higher education enrollment, marketing and online programs with demonstrated success in reducing cost-per-student enrollment
- Exceptional understanding of the student journey, with the ability to articulate, optimize, and ensure seamless execution at each stage while identifying opportunities to enhance engagement and conversion
- Proven track record in developing full-funnel marketing and student engagement solutions for online programs
- Ability to analyze and synthesize complex marketing, student behavior, market research, and enrollment data into actionable strategies
- Strong ability to collaborate across teams, from media strategists to call center leadership, ensuring an integrated approach
- Exceptional presentation, storytelling, and executive communication skills
- Confidence in advising V and C suite higher education leaders on marketing, enrollment, and online program experience solutions
- Exceptional presentation and client management skills
- Outstanding strategic thinking and communication skills
- Drive to help others succeed and bring unity to many moving parts
- Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills
- Due to the remote environment, effective communication and time management skills are required, as well as the ability to use/learn multiple technology platforms and switch between them on a regular basis
- Physical requirement: Must be able to work at a computer for prolonged periods
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (at a minimum) in a related field
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in online education, enrollment, admissions, strategic communications, or some combination at an institution of higher education or higher education agency
- Experience with digital advertising, SEO, CRM tools, call center, or enrollment platforms is a plus
- Proven success in leading online program marketing and student engagement projects with measurable results
