Paid Search Specialist

The Paid Search Specialist is responsible for the strategy, ongoing optimization, and successful management of PPC campaigns within the Google Ads platform. They are responsible for the day-to-day management of campaigns, including but not limited to effective budget management; identifying performance successes, issues, and trends; writing reporting insights and recommendations; and implementing optimizations to ensure we’re meeting our clients’ marketing goals. Reporting to the Director of Paid Search, the Specialist will work closely with the entire Paid Search team to stay up to date on best practices and trends.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day strategy and execution of a client’s paid search campaigns, including keyword development, bidding strategy, ad group and campaign setup, execution details, and overall goal achievement
  • Work closely with and provide mentorship to Paid Search Associates on keyword creation, campaign setup, and basic optimizations  
  • Maintain and monitor keyword bids, impression shares, quality scores, and other important campaign metrics
  • Provide recommendations and execute strategies for keyword opportunities, campaign structuring, targeting, and other facets of paid search in accordance with client goals
  • Monitor and evaluate search performance and generate regular client reporting for all major metrics, goal tracking, and other paid search KPIs in order to deliver insightful client reports and recommendations
  • Collaborate strategically with other internal specialists, including the Digital Strategy team and other key Digital team members, to develop fully integrated campaigns that meet client goals
  • Keep pace with search engine and paid search industry trends and developments

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Marketing and/or Advertising major or concentration preferred
  • 1–2 years of experience working in paid search on the Google Ads platform; experience with lead generation and Microsoft Bing both pluses 
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team while simultaneously managing an independent workload/tasks
  • Data analysis experience preferred, particularly in analyzing digital campaign metrics to measure success
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to new technologies
  • Excellent attention to detail 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Familiarity with Asana or other project management tools a plus
