For Immediate Release—Westford, MA, September 24, 2019—Carnegie Dartlet’s CollegeXpress service, the nation’s leading college and scholarship search resource for students and lead generation portal for colleges and universities, announced today the 2019 winners of its annual $10,000 Scholarship and $2,000 Community Service Scholarship.

Incoming Ohio University freshman Maria Benitez Iglesias is the recipient of this year’s $10,000 Scholarship contest, which is open to all first-year, transfer, and graduate students who register for free on CollegeXpress.com.

“We are delighted and honored that a CollegeXpress scholarship winner is joining us at Ohio University!” said Candace J. Boeninger, Associate Vice Provost for Strategic Enrollment Management and Director of Undergraduate Admissions at Ohio University. “We are committed to helping our students succeed, and we are pleased that this student will receive additional support through this award from CollegeXpress.”

CollegeXpress also awards an annual $2,000 Community Service Scholarship for multicultural students who submit an essay describing their community service activities. Christopher Morales, a freshman at  New York University this fall, was selected as the recipient of this award for his extensive volunteer work and community involvement throughout high school.

“The amount of help I have received using CollegeXpress resources truly aided in my college search process,” said Morales. “The Community Service Scholarship will allow me to pursue research and create new community service projects by lowering the costs of my undergraduate studies so I can pursue medical school in the future.”

“We’re thrilled to have a student that received a CollegeXpress scholarship join NYU this year,” added Jonathan B. Williams, Assistant Vice President of Admissions at New York University.

In addition to these scholarships, CollegeXpress also offers monthly $500 awards through its Refer-a-Friend program. Since 1985, Carnegie Dartlet and CollegeXpress have awarded over $1 million in scholarships to students.

For over 35 years, Carnegie Dartlet has been purposeful in its goal to match the right college to the right student and vice versa,” said Joe Moore, Carnegie Dartlet’s Chairman and CEO. “It’s an honor to play a part in the academic possibilities for these students.”
