Director, Online Enrollment Strategy

 The Director of Online Enrollment Strategy (an Online Enrollment Strategist) drives strategic growth for online programs by leading integrated enrollment, marketing, and student experience projects. This role serves as a trusted advisor, developing holistic, data-driven enrollment marketing and student engagement solutions, including digital advertising, SEO, CRM and calling campaigns, etc. The Strategist is key to helping institutions launch and scale full online solutions by integrating Carnegie’s market research capabilities, digital expertise, enrollment strategies, and student support services to ensure student success and institutional growth.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Client Engagement as Lead Strategist
    • Lead on-site and virtual client engagements focused on online program recruitment, student experience solutions, and enrollment and digital marketing ensuring exceptional client experiences and valuable outcomes 
    • Serve as the lead strategist for integrated, full-funnel online enrollment strategies, including digital marketing, SEO, outbound outreach solutions, and full-funnel student engagement strategies
    • Guide clients through a holistic understanding of online program growth and student recruitment services grounded in seamless integration of in/out-sourced solutions
    • Solve complex online program growth challenges in a self-sufficient and collaborative manner
    • Facilitate calls, presentations, and the creation of strategic deliverables tailored to online enrollment solutions
    • Interface with campus leaders—including VPs of Enrollment, Marketing, and Online Education to build credibility and maintain strong client relationships
    • Collaborate closely with the divisional strategist(s) and client services team members to ensure a seamless and integrated client experience and meaningful results
  • Data Analysis, Strategy, and Storytelling
    • Deliver comprehensive performance narrative by integrating multi-channel data, student engagement trends, and client enrollment insights
    • Synthesize and piece together extensive enrollment, marketing, SEO, and conversion data from subject matter experts and available data toolkit  into actionable insights and recommendations that enhance online student recruitment and enrollment 
    • Research online program markets, student behaviors, and competitive landscapes to inform strategy
    • Develop clear, measurable deliverables that drive exceptional outcomes across integrated teams
  • Cross-Company Collaboration and Leadership
    • Oversee cross-disciplinary efforts across enrollment, digital marketing, SEO,  contact center, and all Carnegie services and their contributions to achieve holistic online enrollment results
    • Stay educated on trends and developments in higher education, online learning, enrollment and marketing
    • Serve as engaged Online Enrollment Strategy team member, sharing wins and learnings with other Online Enrollment Strategists
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Exceptional presentation, storytelling, executive communication, and client management  skills
  • Deep expertise in higher education enrollment, marketing, and online programs with demonstrated success in reducing cost-per-student enrollment and achieving enrollment goals
  • Exceptional understanding of the student journey, with the ability to articulate, optimize, and ensure seamless execution at each stage while identifying opportunities to enhance engagement and conversion
  • Proven track record in developing full-funnel enrollment, marketing, and student engagement solutions for online programs
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize complex enrollment data, marketing data, student behavior, and market research into actionable strategies
  • Strong ability to collaborate across teams, from media strategists to call center leadership to CRM strategists,, ensuring an integrated approach
  • Confidence in advising V and C suite higher education leaders on marketing, enrollment, and online program experience solutions
  • Outstanding strategic thinking and communication skills
  • Drive to help others succeed and bring unity to many moving parts
  • Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills
  • Due to the remote environment, effective communication and time management skills are required, as well as the ability to use/learn multiple technology platforms and switch between them on a regular basis
  • Physical requirement: Must be able to work at a computer for prolonged periods
Credentials and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree (at a minimum) in a related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in online education, enrollment, admissions, or some combination at an institution of higher education or higher education agency
  • Experience with digital advertising, SEO, CRM tools, call centers, or enrollment platforms is a plus
  • Proven success in leading online program enrollment, marketing, and student engagement projects with measurable results
