The Senior Solutions Strategy Specialist, will play a lead role in the development of compelling proposals that showcase our organization’s capabilities and customized solutions to prospective clients. This mid-level position is ideal for individuals with strong writing and critical thinking skills, experience working across multiple service areas, and the ability to manage deadlines and drive strategic content. You’ll collaborate closely with internal subject matter experts and proposal team members, synthesizing input across divisions and translating complex solutions into persuasive, tailored proposal narratives. This role contributes directly to our pursuit of new partnerships and growth.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the creation and development of proposal content, including executive summaries, technical sections, and strategic solution narratives
- Analyze client needs and collaborate with CSLs, SMEs, and Division Leaders to develop tailored solutions and proposal strategies for Tier 2 and Tier 3 opportunities
- Serve as Proposal Team Lead (PTL) on Tier 2 proposals (1–2 divisions), with occasional support on Tier 3 opportunities
- Customize proposals with relevant scope, case studies, references, and supporting information
- Write clear, compelling, and persuasive proposal sections that effectively communicate our organization’s strengths and capabilities
- Edit and proofread proposal content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency with proposal guidelines
- Format and finalize proposal documents for submission, ensuring professional presentation and adherence to requirements
- Contribute feedback and recommendations to improve the effectiveness and competitiveness of proposal content and supporting assets
- Identify gaps in content or resources and participate in developing new materials (e.g., case studies, click-sends, references)
- Support proposal kickoff meetings, status updates, and milestone reviews to ensure timelines are met
- Occasionally mentor or support junior team members on writing quality and internal processes
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Proven experience in proposal development and strategy within a professional services, consulting, or higher education setting
- Strong ability to synthesize inputs and solutions across multiple divisions (3–5) and communicate them clearly
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex information into concise, persuasive narrative
- Experience managing proposal processes, timelines, and collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple concurrent tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to work independently and lead portions of the proposal process
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with proposal management tools/platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Tinman) is preferred
- Due to the remote environment, effective communication and time management skills are required, as well as the ability to use/learn multiple technology platforms and switch between them on a regular basis
- Physical requirement: Must be able to work at a computer for prolonged periods
Credentials and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Business, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 4 or more years of experience in proposal writing or development, with a focus on complex, cross-divisional solutions and services.
