- We’re exploring how AI and automation could streamline recruitment and enhance student engagement.
- We’re unsure how to structure our team or partnerships for scalability—what should we insource, outsource, or automate?
- We’re seeing increased competition and need to strengthen differentiation in a crowded online market.

Mind the Gap: Aligning Online Learner Expectations with Enrollment Strategy
Speakers: Dean Gething, Carnegie & Evan Kropp, University of Florida
Tuesday, December 1st at 3:30 PM
Today’s online learners quickly filter for relevance, clarity, and credibility, yet many institutions still address them as a single broad audience. Drawing on Carnegie Research’s national study of 10,500+ prospective online learners and 145+ online leaders, this session explores gaps between student needs and institutional priorities around trust, support, communication, search, and decision-making.
Through the lens of the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communication’s Division of Distance Education, attendees will see how audience insight can strengthen messaging, help institutions reduce friction and make prospective students feel understood earlier, ultimately driving stronger enrollment and program growth.
