Senior Slate Communications Strategist
Senior Slate Communications Strategists serve as leaders on the Slate Communications team, directly supervising team members, providing strategic guidance, and taking ownership of internal projects and efficiencies. They are also in charge of the day-to-day operations and strategic success of their clients’ Slate Deliver campaigns, providing clients with enrollment communications insights by analyzing campaign performance reports.
Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership and Mentorship
- Act as team lead for three to six team members and assist in facilitating weekly communications team meetings to focus on strategy, ideation, troubleshooting, and client-specific issues
- Take ownership of internal projects, processes, and integrations that meet the needs of the team
- Liaise with internal teams to stay up-to-date on trends related to both enrollment and Slate communications to share with teams
- Slate Campaign Configuration and Monitoring
- Own the build and maintenance of Slate Deliver campaigns for partner institutions, including email builds (excluding copywriting or designing), population/rule configuration, report builds, and more
- Actively communicate with clients about Slate builds, explaining processes, strategy, and implications over scheduled calls or in writing
- Collaborate closely with members of the client project team (Accounts, Creative, and Slate Strategist Associate) to ensure smooth and accurate campaign operations
- Slate Campaign Strategy
- Play a crucial role in communication flow creation alongside the assigned copywriter, providing strategic insights based on past campaign performance and industry trends
- Analyze Slate reports and client benchmarks to note takeaways and recommendations in order to optimize campaign performance and conversion; present strategic findings to clients via regular campaign check-in calls
- Provide overall insights on key outcomes and recommendations for the next cycle in collaboration with the Enrollment Strategist
- Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervise three to six team members (Slate Communications Strategists and/or Slate Strategist Associates)
- Serve as a hiring manager, conducting interviews and organizing new hire onboarding
- Conduct one-on-one meetings, provide insight and feedback for assigning new projects, and manage and support professional growth for direct reports
- Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations for direct reports
Qualifications:
- Leadership and management abilities
- Thorough knowledge of Slate communications operations through Deliver, enrollment communications strategy, and Slate campaign reporting
- Excellent organizational skills, including attention to detail, multitasking, prioritization, and decision-making
- Interpersonal skills to positively collaborate with team members and represent the company to clients
- Advanced understanding of how various Slate configurations impact emails, recipient lists, and campaigns
- Effective communication and time management skills for a remote work environment as well as the ability to use/learn multiple technology platforms and switch between them on a regular basis
- Must be able to work at a computer for prolonged periods
Experience
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree, or equivalent life/work experience
- Minimum of 2 years of intermediate to advanced experience in Technolutions Slate CRM; experience within the Deliver module required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in higher education
