Senior Director, Enrollment Strategy

 The Senior Director of Enrollment Strategy leads the development and execution of integrated enrollment strategies and student search initiatives, serving as a key strategic partner for clients with complex needs. As a trusted expert and thought leader in enrollment management, this individual advises both clients and internal teams while managing and mentoring a team of strategists. This role ensures that all strategies are innovative, aligned with client objectives, and deliver measurable enrollment results—driving both team success and organizational growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Client Engagement and Strategic Leadership
    • Leads on-site and virtual client engagements for high-priority or complex accounts, ensuring exceptional client experiences and driving meaningful outcomes
    • Serves as a lead strategist and practitioner for all integrated student search and enrollment strategies, acting as a point of escalation for client and team challenges
    • Facilitates high-stakes calls and oversees the creation of diverse enrollment and admissions strategy deliverables produced by the team
    • Interfaces with campus leaders in formal and informal settings to establish credibility, while creating and maintaining senior-level client relationships in partnership with the Client Success Leader
    • Guides clients and colleagues through a holistic and forward-thinking understanding of enrollment and search needs
  • Data Analysis, Strategy, and Storytelling
    • Assists in managing the team’s analysis of multi-channel enrollment data, ensuring the translation of complex information into unique, actionable insights
    • Provides strategic oversight and final recommendations for targeted name purchase strategies and other data-driven initiatives
    • Develops clear deliverables and measurements of success that inspire and track exceptional standards across integrated teams
    • Communicates data-informed stories and high-level strategies effectively to a diverse group of external and internal constituents, including executive leadership
  • Cross-Company Collaboration and Team Leadership
    • Manages direct reports within the Enrollment Strategy team, providing guidance, mentorship, and monitoring outcomes and workload
    • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations, and fosters a team environment that encourages innovation, collaboration, and high-quality results
    • Assists as needed with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training new staff
    • Ensures that company-wide communication across client-project teams results in integrated strategies, metrics, and reporting relevant to each client’s goals
    • Stays educated on trends and developments in higher education enrollment and marketing, disseminating knowledge to the team and broader organization
    • Provides sales and marketing support as needed, including sales calls, research, and strategic input

Qualifications:

  • Extensive expertise in higher education enrollment management and admissions
  • Proven track record in leading and developing high-performing teams
  • Demonstrated success in developing enrollment and student search strategies that drive results for institutions and clients
  • Ability to assess the needs of clients, consumers, and target audiences by analyzing large volumes of information and distilling it into clear, actionable insights that drive enrollment success
  • Skilled in driving client outcomes and fostering long-term relationships by identifying opportunities to grow accounts and enhance partnerships for sustained success
  • Ability to inspire confidence in V- and C-level executives
  • Exceptional presentation and client management skills
  • Outstanding strategic thinking and communication skills
  • Insight to identify problems and take measures to rectify them
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while effectively balancing competing priorities
  • Due to the remote environment, effective communication and time management skills are required, as well as the ability to use/learn multiple technology platforms and switch between them on a regular basis
  • Physical requirement: Must be able to work at a computer for prolonged periods

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; master’s degree (preferred).
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in enrollment, admissions, strategic communications, or some combination at an institution of higher education or higher education agency, or within a related industry
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience working in higher education with Student Information Systems (SIS) 
  • Minimum of 2 years of direct supervisory or formal mentorship experience
  • Extensive experience with CRM tools or other relational database systems
  • Proven success in leading enrollment, admission, and student search projects; managing cross-functional teams; and consistently achieving impactful results
