VP, Marketing-Market Presence & Partnerships

The VP, Marketing—Market Presence & Partnerships is responsible for developing and executing our comprehensive market presence strategy, elevating our brand through thought leadership, earned media, strategic partnerships, and high-impact industry engagements. This executive will craft and implement initiatives that position our organization as an industry authority, using conferences and events as strategic vehicles for awareness building and relationship development. This individual will partner closely with marketing leadership, executives, and industry associations to maximize our influence and visibility while ensuring all market presence activities align with our go-to-market (GTM) priorities and business objectives.

Responsibilities:

Market Presence & Thought Leadership Strategy

  • Design and execute a holistic market presence strategy that establishes our organization as a recognized industry leader and authority.
  • Develop compelling thought leadership platforms that showcase our expertise, insights, and unique value proposition across multiple channels.
  • Cultivate earned media opportunities that amplify our voice and expertise within the industry landscape.
  • Create and implement metrics to measure and continuously improve our brand visibility, authority, and market impact.
  • Align all market presence initiatives with broader business objectives and customer acquisition strategies.

Strategic Partnerships & Industry Relationships

  • Strategically cultivate and manage relationships with key industry associations, media outlets, and thought leadership platforms to enhance our market presence.
  • Expand our influence within industry organizations through executive collaboration, committee participation, and partner programs.
  • Identify and develop co-branded opportunities, content collaborations, and strategic alliances that strengthen our industry position.
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with industry stakeholders and influencers through targeted engagement strategies.

Conference & Event Strategy as Awareness Vehicles

  • Leverage industry conferences and events as strategic platforms for amplifying thought leadership and enhancing market presence.
  • Develop a targeted conference/event strategy that maximizes visibility and influence while aligning with broader market presence objectives. Own and operate The Connection annual virtual event.
  • Collaborate with executives to identify and secure high-impact speaking engagements, panel opportunities, and event participations.
  • Ensure all conference participation delivers measurable value through brand building, relationship development, and lead generation.

Owned Events & Content Integration

  • Lead the strategy and execution of signature owned events that showcase our thought leadership and industry expertise.
  • Align content strategy with market presence initiatives to create a cohesive narrative across all channels and touchpoints.
  • Oversee the creation of high-impact thought leadership materials that position our experts as authoritative voices.
  • Drive content amplification by orchestrating integrated campaigns across earned media, social media, and industry platforms.
  • Develop and execute organic social media strategies that enhance market presence and spotlight our thought leaders.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Alignment

  • Serve as the strategic connector between marketing, sales, and executive leadership to ensure market presence activities drive business results.
  • Coach and prepare leadership and subject matter experts to effectively represent our brand in high-visibility industry forums.
  • Integrate market presence strategy with the overall go-to-market plan to create a unified approach to brand building and demand generation.
  • Manage direct reports, including supporting professional development and growth
  • Oversee and monitor the workload and work products of cross-functional teams
  • Provide regular one-on-one coaching and annual constructive performance evaluations

Brand Building:

  • Proven experience creating and implementing initiatives that elevate brand authority and industry recognition.

Relationship Development:

  • Outstanding ability to build and nurture high-value industry relationships and strategic partnerships.

Executive Presence:

  • Polished communication skills and the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders.

Content Strategy:

  • Deep expertise in developing thought leadership platforms and content that positions organizations as industry authorities.

Event Strategy:

  • Strong understanding of how to leverage conferences and events as vehicles for brand building and relationship development, with focus on driving measurable outcomes.

Marketing Acumen:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of B2B marketing, content strategy, earned media, and digital channels.

Analytical Thinking:

  • Data-driven mindset with experience measuring brand impact and optimizing market presence initiatives.

Additional:

  • Due to the remote environment, effective communication and time management skills are required, as well as the ability to use/learn multiple technology platforms and switch between them on a regular basis
  • Must be able to work at a computer for prolonged periods

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of experience in B2B marketing with a focus on market presence, thought leadership, and strategic partnerships.
  • Successful people management experience.
  • Experience in higher education and existing industry relationships is a plus.
